At last, it's time for the grand launch of PUNKMEETSPOSH. After several triumphant, teasing, warm-up issues, we’re proud to present you with the best of London life, from the underground to the over-ground and the punk to the posh of art, music, fashion, events and whatever other cool stuff this great metropolis produces, houses or hosts for our enjoyment. This issue, we take a look back over what was, according to the calendar if not the weather, summer in the city in a retrospective of some of the biggest events that graced London's streets and skies with a photo story of characters at Notting Hill Carnival, a rather surprising side to the Red Bull Air Race and the cream of the city’s lyrical youth at the SLAM Poetry Championship.
Cover star Goldie\s first gallery exhibition opened this month and we uncover the motives and the man behind the teeth at his home and studio, whilst rising star Anouska Beckwith takes us on a tour of her favourite haunts in town. Punk legend Rat Scabies imparts words of wisdom over a few pints, Risotto bar Ooze receives a review, fashion label Ananya serves up seasonless style and, with the help of a few Xananx, we've just about managed to calm an excited Anna down after her evening at Miller’s Academy – it may just be possible to have too good a time.
With home-grown band Subsource supplying our London Music and the one and only Murray Lachlan-Young providing his satirical poetical observations in our revamped Page Meets Poet pages, all you need to do is take your eyes and ears for a party through our pages.
So whether you fancy putting on the kettle or pouring out a pint, sit back and relax for your PUNKMEETSPOSH time.
